BOOT
CAMP Frequently Asked
Questions
Do I have to be fit to
participate?
Our
classes are designed to cater for all fitness levels from complete
beginners to advanced exercisers looking for a new challenge.
You will be pushed to your hardest level and inspired to achieve
your individual best. Even if you are not currently
exercising you can participate. You don't need to be fit to
join us!
Is it like the army? Will I be
“punished” for being late to class, being too slow or finishing
last?
Our
boot camp is non-military in style. You will not have to
pretend you are in the army, nor engage in unsafe carrying of other
participants. We leave the military drills to the armed
forces! You will not be punished for being last or late, nor
motivated via humiliation. Our boot camps are team based,
intensive workouts using encouragement and goals as
motivation.
What sort of exercises will we
do?
Individual
and team exercises, cardiovascular fitness drills, circuits,
relays, active games, muscle toning /strengthening, boxing pad
training, abdominal strengthening & core stability, medicine
ball work, skipping, resistance band exercises, balance challenges,
and much more! No two classes will be the same.
How many people in a
class?
We
enrol a maximum of 20 participants in our classes to ensure you get
the best possible workout.
What do I wear and bring
along?
Most
of our participants wear tracksuit pants or shorts with a t-shirt
or singlet, and good quality, supportive sneakers. Don’t be
tempted to wear your best gear as you may get a little dirty!
Bring along a towel and a bottle of water for your comfort and
hydration.
What if it rains? What if it is hot
weather?
Fitness
is about maintaining a regular commitment to exercise, so we don’t
cancel due to weather. We are out there rain, hail or
shine! For our outdoor sessions wear appropriate clothing – a
waterproof jacket and cap can come in handy and make things more
comfortable if it rains. In hot weather our trainers will
adjust the class, incorporating less running around and more
strength and abdominal based work. Be sure to wear sunscreen
and bring water.
On the
rare occasion that we need to cancel the class due to a storm or
extreme heat we will contact you and you'll receive a make up
session. If you don't hear from us, the class is going
ahead!
Healthy
Balance Boot Camps are a little different to other boot camp
programs as we move to indoor venues during the darker, cooler
months for your safety and comfort.
Do you offer a reward if I refer a
friend?
Yes!
Our best advertising is word of mouth, so we reward boot camp
vouchers as a thank you.
Do you run these courses ongoing
throughout the year?
Our
courses run in 6 week blocks all throughout the year. There
are usually no classes on public holidays and there is a break at
Christmas/New Year. |
